Interview with Unsolicited Press

What do your readers mean to you?
Our readers are the bread and butter of our press. We offer a variety of different style of literature that stick to our gut notion to provide stellar literature to readers who are tired of reading commercial garbage.
What are you working on next?
We currently have six books coming out in the next year.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When we aren't writing, we are editing the beautiful words of our authors.
How do you approach cover design?
We consider the underlying themes and conflicts throughout the manuscripts to determine the cover.
What motivated you to become an indie publisher?
We wanted to put out books that contributed to the world of literary fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction. We embrace experimental poetry and fiction...we love hybrid works.
Who are your favorite authors?
Raymond Carver, Charles Bukowski, Emily Dickinson, Edwidge Danticat, Toni Morrison, and many more.
What is your writing process?
Drink coffee. Write pages.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
No way. There are far too many books to count to only have FIVE.
What do you read for pleasure?
Everything.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Reaching out to those we know.
Describe your desk
Clean. No distractions.
