Interview with Vera LeRay Warner

Of all the books that you have written which is your favorite and why?
I think it would be Cultivate My Heart because that one is written quite differently than the rest. Embracing the Love of the Father oozes with love. The Making is more in your face! But I wrote some of the chapters of Cultivate My Heart as if I was the main character or characters and it was so much fun imaging what they must have been thinking and going through at the time. It is as if I had to become someone else entirely.
n that book which is your favorite chapter ?
Oh, it has to be Chapter 4 Cultivate in Me... A Servant’s Heart. There were times that I wept as I was writing it. I allowed myself, in my mind, to actually be there when Jesus was with the disciples during that Passover Celebration. I would just feel the humility of my Lord as He washed their feet and He brought back to mind times when I had my feet washed and washed the feet of others. It was quite humbling!
Are you working on another book right now and if so can you tell us about it?
Yes, I am. Usually when I write the thoughts come to mind and I begin to write them down and the title comes later. But this time I had the title before I wrote down one thought….Motivated by Love. This is proving to be more challenging than any of the others. How does one even begin to write about how everything that a child does should be motivated by the love of the Father? I need help Lord!

This book is a reminder that He loves us so much and desires that we not just recognize His love for us but that we accept it as truth and embrace it with everything within us.

“Cultivate” is a word used a lot in farming or agriculture and it means to prepare the land or the ground for use. It means to loosen or break up the soil. Motivation is defined as the driving force by which we do a thing. It is that internal force that produces you to act. And it would be wise to remember that motivation always has a goal in mind. The reality is that everything that we do is not motivated by our love for God. God is love, and He loves us so much. So much so that he created us with the freedom to choose.
