Interview with Ronie P. Holden

Who are your favorite authors?
I was one of those kids who had their nose stuck in books since I learnt how to read. It's really hard to choose from all the authors I've ever read but I think I would go with Frances Hodgson Burnett and Lucy Maud Montgomery. I still read their amazing stories about kids who try to change the world around them. =)
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I don't remember the first story I ever read but I do remember the first story that had a big impact on me. When I was ten I found Little Lord Fauntleroy by Frances Hodgson Burnett under the Christmas tree and I read it in one day. I fell in love with Cedric and his ability to see good in everything. It was awesome.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes. I was in the fifth grade and my teacher kept asking me to rewrite the story we were assigned to write. I wrote like five versions and she still wasn't satisfied, claiming that I could do better. I was so frustrated. I hated her and all her stupid writing assigments but she pushed me into writing a story that won a local literary competition so it was worth it after all. =)
When did you first start writing?
I started writing in the fifth grade. It was mostly short stories for some competitions. When I was in high school, I was an assistant editor of our school magazine and I mostly wrote the articles about what was happening at school. Then I started college and didn't write anything for over five years until I decided to come back to my roots and give it a try once again. =)
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing, I'm most likely reading something. And when I don't write or read, I'm either at work or with my family or friends.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
Mostly through recommendation...
Describe your desk
A big mess...I always find a way to cover every single inch of my desk with my things :D
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
To get lost in the world where I'm the one in control of everything. =)
