Interview with Rosette Stronghold

When did you first start writing?
I started writhing very early. Around the age of six my mother got fed up of my constant requests for stories and said that for every story she told I must tell one of my own.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
When the story that I tell makes someone's day happier, or makes it better, or gives them food for thought, I feel like I've done my job and that makes me happy.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the Caribbean where you are judged by how close you are to being white. Since I'm firmly lodged at the other end of you color spectrum much was never expected of me. I learned early that my words can overcome all prejudice and set me apart from others. It has also forced me to look deeper at people and situations and I believe that this is reflected in my writing.
Describe your desk
Messy. Little pieces of paper are everywhere.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading of course. And crafting; I love all things creative.
What do you read for pleasure?
I enjoy reading and so I read whatever I'm in the mood for.
Who are your favorite authors?
I inhale so many books that I have to breakdown the answer to that by genres. I love Michael Chrichton, John J. Nance, Frank E. Peretti, Seon Orlando, Ann Maxwell as Elizabeth Lowell, Dara Joy, Christine Feehan and on and on...
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I just keep looking until something catches my eye.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Life. I've had really great times and really bad times in my life but in the end everything turned out to be an adventure worth living.
What are you working on next?
I'm working on an awesome romantic adventure into outer space. Most of it is still in my head but it's going to be an easy write for me.
