Interview with Chris Lunda

What's the story behind your latest book?
Growing up in New Orleans I was fascinated by the spiritual history of the city and attending Baylor University offered me the unique opportunity to view religion through a historical perspective. This story is based on my perception of the paranormal and how in a fictional world they might relate to religious parable, myth and legend.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
Previously having written for the stage I was always tempted and finally succumbed in 2011.
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
It has offered me an additional platform to reach distribution channels easily and of course the Smashwords audience.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
In the moment when I have no idea where the story is going and I write something that scares me personally.
What do your fans mean to you?
My 30,000 plus Facebook fans have been a major part of the inspiration for continuing to write. When readers in 47 countries like your stuff, it's pretty cool.
What are you working on next?
Book 2 in the Trilogy 'The Voodoo Prophecies and the Rise of the Nephilim'.
Who are your favorite authors?
Poe, Hawthorne and Salinger to name a few.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I live close to the beach and I can work there. What more could I ask for?
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Hanging out with my wife when she's not hanging out with our horses.
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I have a huge number of resources. Blogs, social media and indie review sites are some of them.
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
Yes it was a stage adaptation of the Vietnam era. Heady stuff right?
What is your writing process?
Write, write and write. I use speech recognition software so I throw out random ideas, polish them, force them into an outline and go from there.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I t was probably a Sunday School Bible story and judging from this series of books, quite an impact...
How do you approach cover design?
A wonderful artist from the Northeast Kip Ayers handles my work.
