I love to read all books with strong characters and deep running emotions. Romance is always a first pick for me. My fave genres are contemporary, erotic romance, and romantic suspense. I also adore good genre mashups with some magical or paranormal elements thrown in. For me it's more about attaching to the characters than it is the subject matter.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I always read with the kindle application on my LG Optimus G phone. I also use the Kindle app on my desktop and laptop.
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I love being on Facebook, and Twitter, and I find that interacting with readers in real time is the best way to get my name out there. I like to show them I'm a real person with flaws like everyone else, and just be around for them. I also love interacting with fellow authors and writers at all levels this way for support and fun times.
Of course the very best way is to keep writing and publishing great stories.
Describe your desk
oooooooh ummmmm. MESSY lol but I totally know where everything is when I need it. True story.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Tasmania, the southern island state of Australia. It really like one big country town. This has certainly affected my writing I think with down to earth characters who will take on the world if they have to. I also have family at the heart of my stories as what can be more emotional at times than family dynamics. Regional country areas tend to have bold family connections whether they be good or bad.
When did you first start writing?
I first started considering a career in writing about 12 years ago. I finally settled down to make it a firm career choice five years ago, and I am really loving everything about it.
What's the story behind your latest book?
My current book New Year Kisses Boardroom Wishes is an Aussie office romance. We are in the midst of Summer here in the holiday season. I've always loved New year's Eve here where everyone crowds the city centres, there's fireworks and a lot of excited people. These characters begin as opposites attract but end up very much alike. The hero is the new company boss undercover as an employee and rival for the heroine to win the top marketing job.
They have an undeniable passion, and when they finally act on for a New Year's fling, they uncover a web of lies and deceit that would make The Bold and The Beautiful green with envy. It's very sexy. It's high drama. But there is always that splash of Aussie humour filtering through. I love this story, and I hope readers do too.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I will be published with www.escapepublishing.com mid next year and I wanted to get some stories out to support that, and I also love the idea of having indie titles. It adds another layer to the journey of being published and I can just get more stories out for readers to enjoy.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Telling the story that will touch someone in a wonderful way. If I can take a person out of a crap day for a little while, or help them through emotions they struggle with, or even just put a smile on their face, that is where the joy comes from for me.
What are you working on next?
An erotic romantic suspense series and some more contemporary romance.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I love to cook, that's how I relax. I love to get together with family and friends over a few beers and laugh our problems away for a while. It's a great way to debrief. I also adore spending time with my kids. Two are adult and one is under 10. So much fun.
