When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not writing I like to read other peoples work
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I browse different sites and receive updates from Book Bub
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
My first story ever published was a short story in seventh grade titled "The Haunted House", and was published in the school yearbook
What is your writing process?
I like to write in free form, with just a general idea of what I want to cover, I just let the story unfold and take different twists and turns
How do you approach cover design?
I am luck because my daughter does my designs, I discuss different ideas with her and turn her loose
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I would have to say the first five books in the Dragon Riders of Pern, I really like the connection between the animals and humans
What do you read for pleasure?
I rad many genre, Sci Fi, thriller, and of course medieval fiction when I'm not doing research
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I like my kindle paperwhite
What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
Recommendation by word of mouth seems to be the best
Describe your desk
I work on a table so I have plenty of room for reference material
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in CA where I was first introduced to the world of four legged critters, a theme throughout my writing
When did you first start writing?
Several years ago I began writing this series accidentally, I was just staying busy by writing a saga to entertain the family
What's the story behind your latest book?
The latest book is second in the series, just a small portion of the manuscript amassed over several years, just wanted to write about something I was passionate about
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I toyed with traditional publishing outlets but I wanted to be published while I was still alive
How has Smashwords contributed to your success?
I just started with Smash Words, so success remains to be seen
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
Writing is an escape for me, I lose myself in the story and write about how I picture a scene
What do your fans mean to you?
Fans and reviews are great, without them there would be no need to publish
What are you working on next?
I am working on the fifth book in "The Rogue Gallery" series
Who are your favorite authors?
Mc Caffery, Cobb, Martin, Jordan, just a few
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
My dog won't allow me to stay in bed for long
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
I remember reading a book in grade school called "Cougar", of course it was about critters, a recurring theme in my writing
