Interview with Roy T James

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
Reading, any unpopular topic interests me a lot. and therefore there is never a dull period!
How do you discover the ebooks you read?
I am attracted to discussions on current affairs and that is a goldmine, as far as discovering a new topic to ponder.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
As a small boy, I remember going to sleep listening to stories from my father. He will pick up some book, usually a novel (He had a good collection, Pearl S Buck, Perry Mason, etc) and my oldest memory is of 'My son, my son' by, I think 'Howard Spring'. That was taxing sentimentally and I was in tears for many days.
How do you approach cover design?
I am yet to graduate into the deeper questions of book writing, being a novice of sorts. So far I have been finding the choice of designs available at the many (helpful) websites adequate.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
1 State (I do not remember the exact title) by Thomas Jefferson, in which the Jeffersonian state is defined. USA is a great country because it is a Jeffersonian state.
2 The Healing Knife, autobiography of Dr George Sava, a pioneer of plastic surgery. It is a moving story of the doctor developing such techniques to correct the deformities of a traipse artist, romantically involved.
3 Fall from Grade by Lapierre, generates instant sympathy with the protagonist.
4 A Stone for Danny Fishcer for its 'unrobbinsness'
5 The Elegy written in a country Churchyard, hailed as the best lines ever written in English language.

Caste is a relic of dark ages. It did not evolve into a modernized version in the natural course of events as the people of India were not the real custodians of Indian society, having been under foreign rule for many years and those rulers finding great use in caste.
