Interview with Rhea Gonzales

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I ever wrote was a really short one. I didn't even make it to 2,000 words. It was about this girl having her heart jump out of her chest, leaving it at home as she goes about having a normal day. Kind of weird, I know, but there was a moral lesson there.

A few years after that, I wrote "A Promdi's Guide To Self-discovery", a full-length novel, on Wattpad. I didn't have that much confidence that I could finish a story then. When I did finish it, though, I was (and still am) totally thrilled to see it on the Wattpad's featured list and to read all the praises from my wonderful readers. It even received an award from the site's prestigious annual competition. It was all the push I needed to continue writing stories.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
That feeling when people say they love my books, have learned something from them or were inspired by them, it's just amazing.
What do your fans mean to you?
They're the most awesome beings that ever lived. Hugs and kisses to you all!
Who are your favorite authors?
I love J.K. Rowling, of course, and Stephenie Meyer, Lindsey Kelk, Jennifer E. Smith, Stephanie Perkins, Abbi Glines, Alice Clayton, and Sophie Kinsella, among others.
What do you read for pleasure?
I'm into New Adult, Contemporary Romance and Adventure. I don't like Horror that much because I still want to sleep soundly at night; I'm that much of a scaredy-cat.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I look at other people's posts on Facebook while I binge-watch my favorite TV shows.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
I have A LOT of favorite books but, at the moment, the top five romance stories that I love are Anna and the French Kiss, The Unidentified Redhead, I Heart New York, After and a manga called Hana Yori Dango.
Describe your desk
I'd say, it's organized chaos.
