Interview with T.C. Bosarge

Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I ever wrote was a horror story when I was in the 7th grade. I was a bit of a loner and didn't have a lot of friends so I turned to writing to impress my drama teacher.(I had a little crush on him). I wrote this gory story and I don't remember all of it but I specifically remember someone getting stabbed in the eye with a screw driver. haha!
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first real story I ever read was Stephen King's Misery when i was in the 5th grade. I didn't even know that it was a bit advanced for me but I ended up reading the whole book in a matter of days. I loved it. It made me realize that I loved reading.
What do you read for pleasure?
I read romance books for pleasure. Of course i've read all the Fifty Shades books and briefly fell in love with Christian Grey but the book that I just finished was Wallbanger by Alice Clayton. It was amazingly cute and funny. I laughed and completely feel for the characters Caroline and Simon.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up here in Alabama. I love everything about the south. Even in the city of Mobile, it's still slow moving and easy going. It's not hard to see love happening in the south with warm air, porch swings, and sweet tea. I make lot of the characters I write about come from the south. They all have a sweet charm about them. A lot of myself goes into my characters.
When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
I spend my time on Netflix or on Tumblr. I've recently recieved a guitar so i'm making a strong attempt to learn how to play.
What is your writing process?
My writing process is not really much of a process. I usually brain storm right before I fall asleep. I ask myself where I want the characters to go and what should happen when they get there. I do most of my writing off the top of my head because it's hard to really plan what you're going to write. I may have a direction I want things to go but if i'm feeling different in that moment then the direction is going to completely change. I'm a bit all over the place when it comes to the process.
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing in elementary school when a teacher asked us to write a poem for her sick mother as a contest. I won and at the time, I thought my niche was poetry but as I got older, i realized it wasn't and still to the day, I am bad at poetry.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans mean absolutely everything to me on Wattpad. They inspire me in the greatest way. When i'm feeling down, I read the comments on my stories and immediately want to write. To know that all these people around the country read my material and love it just makes me feel like I have a bigger purpose.Hopefully through Smashword, I can gain a bigger fan family.
Who are your favorite authors?
My favorite Author will always be Sarah Dessen. I read all of her books throughout highschool and it helped me through guy problems and whatever conflicts I had within myself. I loved that I could relate to her characters and know exactly how they felt going through situations. My favorite book out of all of hers is Dreamland
What motivated you to become an indie author?
I just really needed and outlet. I had so much stuff built up in me because I don't to talk about my feelings to people so I discovered Wattpad and decided to write my first real story. It was rough, really rough and I recently edited it and now I love it because I can read it then read my recent work and see just how much i've grown. Write is always about progress. Writing helps me better myself. I have so much confidence in my writing. I feel like I can go far if I stay dedicated.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
Breakfast, sometimes lunch depending on what time I wake up :)
