Biography

MICHAEL DREW SHAW is a filmmaker, author, composer, and multi-media entrepreneur. He began his career in radio and has an extensive background in entertainment / broadcasting management.

Michael is co-founder of American Retrospects and US20 Records. Clients and partners include HBO, CBS Music, PBS, Paramount Pictures, and the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame.

The voice of Radicals & Visionaries, stories about entrepreneurs who revolutionized the 20th Century, Michael is also a featured audio book narrator at audible.com, the world’s largest provider of online audio.

His documentaries include The Flight of Apollo Eleven and the highly acclaimed PBS television special Ohio, A Sentimental Journey. Michael recently finished the first episode of Satin Dolls, a new series about female vocalists from the big band era.

Michael’s literary resume includes “Unsuspecting Friends” and “SLIDER, The Leo Butterburger Story”. His latest work is “On Fire With Ignorance, Adventures of a Relentless Entrepreneur”.

Michael is past president of CBS-Music DataBank©. He supports entrepreneurship through projects at the Dallas-Hamilton Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership at Bowling Green State University. He resides and works in Sylvania, Ohio.

What is your writing process?
I am a freelance author and audio book narrator with a full audio production studio located in Sylvania, Ohio USA. I write books and essays that inspire entrepreneurship and fictional works that focus on positive thinking and uplifting subject matter. I do not author any content that has a clear or hidden agenda regarding race, religion, age or politics. My story lines are frequently based on true stories and real world experience. My audio book collection currently contains twenty-five titles and is available at audible.com.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first book, or in this case a series that has had lasting impact on my life are the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis
