Groucho Jones lives by the sea in rural Western Australia.
Groucho Jones, you're the author of the Water Bear. Welcome.
It's good to be here. It's really good to be here. Publishing this book is a high-water mark in my life.
What is the Water Bear about?
It's an adventure story. My hero is taken out of her everyday life, and set to solve a puzzle of cosmic importance. She joins a team of peacekeepers - good soldiers, in every sense of the words. It's also a moral tale. In it we have three good - but not perfectly good - lead characters. They have to fight as hard as they can to win. The question is, how far will they go?
How far would you go to stop a war?
It is 2075, and the people of Earth have been prevented from destroying their own planet. While protesters rebel in the streets, the historian Ophelia Box is recruited into a covert peacekeeping unit, whose mission is to prevent a genocide. The problem is that the genocide is in the past.
She becomes a key player in a drama that spans time and space.
