Patricia Milne is a retired Early Childhood Educator, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, volunteer and traveller. She and her husband are snowbirds, spending their winters in a sunny community of like-minded and very active seniors. Patricia spent her career setting children up for success by teaching them to plan the steps of their daily tasks. As it turns out, planning is a valuable tool for success at any age… from childhood all the way through to long-term care.
Karen Cumming and Patricia Milne are sisters who embarked on a daunting journey... one that many of us may go on at some point in our lives. They guided their 98 year old mother, Verna, through Ontario's long-term care system.
Unfortunately, few people on the inside of that system seemed to be guiding them.
