A. E. Taylor
Alan E Taylor was born in Barrow in Furness, son of a soldier and riveter in the Vickers Naval shipyard. His mother remarried. The authors’ hobbies through his life were sport, reading, fly fishing, martial arts and orienteering. His biggest pastimes were back-packing, mountaineering and rock climbing. He worked as a ranger for the National Park (North York’s). The author influencing his writing are are Alistair MacLean, Franz Kafka, Ernest Hemmingway, Albert Camus and Lord Byron. Through his love of martial arts he has always had an interest in Qi Gong (Chi Kung) and has increasingly become interested in Shaolin Warrior Qi Gong and Chan (Zen) Buddhism. Today, he practices meditation and Zen Buddhism.
