A. J. Bell

Biography

I was born and raised in Coahuila, México. Although my city, Monclova used to be the Capitol of Coahuiltexas, literally speaking I was not born in Texas but I became an official Texan as soon as I could! The Lone Star State is my home now and where I reside with my three kids.

Just like most women I claim all the chocolaty goodness that enters my home and consider eating chocolate a great tool to keep my life running smooth. I love to sit down and read a good and entertaining book specially if there is a good amount of romance and adventure in it.

I am a poet, a painter and story teller at heart. Inspired by the colors in the winds or the light in the shadows. A woman of many hidden talents just like Elle in The Everlands Chronicles – The truth, my first published novel.

Smashwords Interview

What is your writing process?
I am an all over the place writer. I do not have a set process, I sort of work by what inspires me at the moment. Write down a scene or part of it and then build bridges to connect one scene to another. For example, with The Everlands Chronicles, the first thing I wrote was the ending of the story, from there everything else came to pass!
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
Not the very first one for I was very young, but I remember the first poem I read that had a great impact on me and had a lot to do with inspiring me to write The Everlands Chronicles. It was in Spanish, it was called :Romance de la doncella guerrera by an Unknown author. It captivated me, I wanted to know more, I wanted to read more. They were very simple words, like everything I write, but they carry a feeling of danger and adventure and a hint of romance, and these elements combined can be found in each of my stories.
