Biography
I, Alan R. Secor, am an aspiring new writer. At sixty years of age, it is about time I publish my writings. I enjoy writing essays about nature, funny incidents, spiritual subjects, free verse poetry, and short stories. “A Kind and Wiser World,” a science fiction/fantasy/spiritual novella, will be my first story for publication.
I have always been an avid reader, but now I am taking the art of writing seriously. In my writing, I hope to teach, inspire, and entertain people.
I have completed a fictional adventure short story that I will publish soon.
I attended Tidewater Community College, where I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. I was unable to earn a degree for various reasons. However, I have done a lot of self-study.
I was born in Chester, Pennsylvania, but lived in Philadelphia as a boy. I currently reside and work in Hampton Roads, Virginia.
As of 2/23/2017, I am finishing another fiction, but based on a real life event. The title will be: "The Princess, Queen, and King."
