Alexus Brown
Biography
Alexus, a Florida native, is a preschool teacher, who has a love for writing. She discovered her love for poetry in the sixth grade, when she wrote her first poem during a car ride to Gainesville, FL. Writing poetry comes natural to Alexus.
Before teaching preschoolers, Alexus studied at the University of South Florida, where she received her B.A. in English (consentration in creative writing).
Her writing is very straight forward and raw. She grabs the attention of her readers with her out-of-the-box metaphors and similes. Influenced by her faith, her mission in writing is to speak on injustices and point her readers to a greater hope.
In her lates work, Solid Ground, she provokes readers to examine and think about what's in their hearts that's keeping me from a solid ground.
