A.T. Judge

A.T. Judge first discovered her love for books in the 1st grade when her teacher had the whole class write a "book" on the ballet they had gone to see on a field trip. From that day on, she couldn't kill the passionate love books and writing. By the 5th grade she wrote her first "Novel" which was a total of 20 notebook pages front and back. The dream of becoming a writer grew from there. Born in California she spent almost 16 years living in the south, from Tennessee to North Carolina. Currently A.T. Judge live in Southern California, is a full time student, and living with her wonderful, supporting family. Her mother, father, sister, nephew, and little old mutt Sassy. If she could she would spend all her time at Disneyland, and even hopes to be a cast member in a few years. "If you can't be proud of your own work; no matter what happens, how do you expect to excel? Be proud, each piece is amazing in its own way."

Smashwords Interview

When did you first start writing?
The first grade. My teacher, Mrs. Kinder, was a book freak and it rubbed off onto me. We would watch "Between the Lions" and "Reading Rainbow" on PBS daily. To help us learn words and to spell she would have us write little books with the words in them or about our friends or our lives. I still have quite a few of those books, the very first one ever, and treasure them greatly. I am very grateful to my teacher also, because without her, A.T. Judge would not exist.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I've lived a few places in my life; the part of my growing up that impacted me the most was my time in North Carolina and my current time in California. I use to take a summer trip to California yearly to visit family, so I have been greatly influenced by the two totally different cultures within one country. I set my stories more in places that I know more of, to make it as realistic as possible for my readers. I want them to have a full as-real-as-possible experience.
