Albert Zimbler grew up on the West side of Chicago and served in WWII. He met his wife when she was a nurse at Mt. Sinai Hospital, and they were married when he returned to civilian life. After getting an accounting degree and becoming a CPA, Al moved with Ruth and their first child to Elgin, IL, where Al started his own accounting firm.
After Ruth and Al’s four children had grown, Al sold his accounting practice before moving to a suburb of Chicago, where he and Ruth now live. And although he still has accounting clients, he spends much of his time writing short comedy stories as well as taking or teaching writing and improv courses. He’s also an active member of the group MEL – Men Enjoying Leisure.
Visit his website (www.AlZimblerComedy.com) for more information and to watch a video of Al leading a senior improv session.
