Alan J Fisher

Biography

Alan J Fisher was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland 41 years ago. Since he could talk he has had a love, a passion for words. he would argue with his mother over semantics from the age of 4; he would compose his first poems at around 8 years of age and have songs he wrote performed at school. A life long passion of writing for the sake of writing; "setting the words free" as he likes to call it!

Alan has travelled the world, living in England, Spain and both New Mexico and Georgia in the USA. "Travel broadens and improves the mind and makes it harder for bigotry to take root there". He has always been open minded and accepting of other cultures and believes this shows in his writing. He has lifelong friends across the world.

This project Alan is now releasing has been 25 years in the making! At 14 or 15 he began the early drafts in exercise books, scribbles and scrawls he typed up; first on an old mechanical typewriter his parents had, then on one of those single line screen electric typewriters which were around years ago (I think that thing is still in my parent's basement somewhere! Does anyone remember the gawd awful experience of making even ONE typo on those things??). The story has developed, grown and evolved over successive rewrites and restyles over the years and now, now finally it is ready to release into the Wild!

Fascination with history. especially the Classical period is clear too, Ancient Greece, Macedonia and Rome are all part of Alan's other great passion; that which made us, us. "If Alexander the great had never died in Babylon, or had handled Hephaeston's death differently, used it as a motivator not surrendered into himself, @died of sadness@ as some put it, how different a world would we live in?". He's developed that and is presenting the early form to you today but more is coming...An as yet unhtitled volume 2 will be ready in around a month; more short stories and more poems...a sneak peek will be coming sooner on his blog; see how the Kalshodar were born and who Sham really is? Well...let's see eh? "Dragon of Macedon" is coming soon too; the full novel chronicling Alexander's rise to power, his meetings with Jesus, Sham and others; how the world began to be shaped differently. The Trilogy of Trinity - Unity - Nihility may come before, after or at the same time. Tales of the Embodiment is in progress also. Keep your eyes peeled both here and also on https://cyclebiker2.wixsite.com/alanjfisher for more news!

Alan lives in the Dominican Republic with his wife and children who include the very recent arrivals; his absolute darling loves, twin girls Anaia and Ambar. One day he will make a true living from writing and take them travelling too!

Smashwords Interview

What's the story behind your latest book?
It's actually three stories which will, by the end of the series, be tied together into one story. The basic premise is that Alexander the Great did not die in Babylon. He in fact found the secret to immortality and proceded to conquer, as he had always dreamed, from sunrise to sunset.
What motivated you to become an indie author?
It's in my blood, I have been writing since as long as i can remember! This story began it's embrionic life when I was around 12 years old, taken this long to reach it's current form, one i am truly happy with.
