Gabriel Garcia Marques, Dashiell Hammett, Isabel Allende, Collette
Twelve short stories - one for each month. The year is measured out in familiar festivals. All the stories are set in Scotland - but not in an overly parochial way!
Two of the stories appeared in a previous anthology (Fistful of Rain - now withdrawn) - and another "A Glasgow New Year" was previously available as a standalone short story (also now withdrawn)

Watch Your Back

A very enjoyable story set in an interesting period of history.I would heartily recommend it! It illustrates well one of the themes I have noticed in recent history books I have read about the period - there are great similarities and great differences between us and the Romans (and by extension the characters in this novel) - we share a love of home and family - but not arbitrary justice! So. please, read this book! You will enjoy it!
