Allie Light

Biography

Allie Light is an Academy Award and Emmy Award filmmaker, who works as a writer, director and producer of documentaries for film and television. With her partner, Irving Saraf, she has made 17 films. She's a former lecturer in Women Studies (San Francisco State University) and a former screenwriting teacher (City College, San Francisco). Her college degrees are: BA Creative Writing and MA Interdisciplinary Art, San Francisco State University. Her published non-fiction appears in Writing Our Way Out of the Dark, Queen of Swords Press; Out of Her Mind, Modern Library; and Blue Mountain Shadows, a periodical. Numerous interviews of Allie appear in Film Fatales, Independent Women Directors; Documentary Filmmakers Speak; Action!, Interviews With Directors from Classical Hollywood to Contemporary Iran. The Cody Chronicles is her first novel.
