I rather enjoyed this story and it was a short story, only took an afternoon to read. I found the tale to be rather concise and tight and the characterization of Amy as a 10 yr old was spot on. There are a number of flashbacks and a few instances of verbal meanderings, but as a mother of an 8 yr old, I thought it was a pretty good rendering of the mind of a child.
At first, I was a bit confused as to where the entire story was going to go, but when I got to the end, I realized what the author was trying to do. No spoilers here, but the ending I was expecting wasn't the one I got in a pleasant way, I guess.
It's difficult to explain without giving too much away, but I did find it an enjoyable read and will check out the author's other offerings.
Bought this book and let it languish in my ereader for awhile. But once I started it, I found it very enrgossing. Finished it in a matter of days. There were several storylines interwoven together and although classified as a romance, there was a fair amount of intrigue and action as well. I hope the sequel is coming soon.
