Amanda Sandton lives in the South West of France near to Pomerol where Raoul du Lamond's family estate is to be found. Her love of the French way of life is evident from her stories of the du Lamond family: the five-part series, 'First Time at Forty', about Joyce and Raoul, and 'Waking the Wolf'', featuring Jean-Luc du Lamond, Raoul's nephew, director of the French government's wolf conservation project in the French Alps. A great lover of the romantic tradition, she says she finds the French countryside inspiring.
