Smashwords Interview

How do you approach cover design?
I really take inspiration from what I'm writing when I make a cover. I honestly spend so much time trying to find the perfect image--the perfect look for what I'm writing that it could rival the time I spend making the story itself. I try my best to use people I believe resemble the character I feel is the main part of the story.
What are your five favorite books, and why?
Fallen by Lauren Kate is my first favourite- It's simply brilliant. The story-line, the plot, the characters all come together to make the story detailed, emotional and entrancing. The story simply took me out of this world--almost as if I was in the story myself. That's why I love it so much.
The Perks Of Being A Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky is a close second. The main character Charlie really captured my attention because of how well he was written, how deeply the author went into the way Charlie felt. I could personally relate to the characters, all of them, but Charlie was the one I could really get down on a raw, emotional ground with. I loved how he went from being lonely, shy, and reserved to being charismatic, bold, and outspoken.
Divergent by Veronica Roth is great, and another favourite. I related well to Four--He had parental issues, an abusive dad. He was a little colder and distant until he met Triss, and then slowly you can see his walls fall down. I couldn't have found a single error in the entire book if I sat down with a microscope and went over every little minuscule detail.
Two Boys Kissing by David Levithan Is my fourth favourite--It's what inspired me. When I read this book, at first I was a little reserved about it, but I loved it. The characters were amazingly wrote, the story well thought-out and the entire thing just came together.
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green was amazing. is my fifth, and final favourite book. The book is so emotional, so sweet, and passionate. It made me cry, it made me want more and more, and it made me get so attached to the characters. I had no idea I'd fall in love with it so much.
