Amy L. Boukair

Biography

Amy L. Boukair started writing in the third grade in the form of plays about horses (as little girls are want to do), and later progressed to poetry and short stories. Since then, her writing has taken many roads-less-traveled and has culminated in the romantic suspense novel INDIGO; the first book of the Chroma Series, and her first full-length novel.

Though born, bred, and currently living in Ohio, Amy yearns for a year-round warmer climate to allow her a more palatable environment to write. If she's not working on her next book, she can be found reading anything and everything from Neil Gaiman to Diana Gabaldon, listening to a wide variety of music, rooting for her favorite Barclay's Premier League soccer team - Arsenal (go Gunners!), or binge-watching TV shows and movies. She is also an avid gamer, karaoke hack, and a video poker and keno enthusiast.

Amy has a BA in Paralegal Studies from Notre Dame College of Ohio (not to be confused with THE Notre Dame), and even spent a brief stint in law school. Writing is in her blood however, and no matter how hard she tries to distract herself with the internet, she is continually drawn back to making up fantastical stories for readers to enjoy.

Smashwords Interview

Who are your favorite authors?
There are too many to list! It tends to be the author I'm currently reading. As of today - that's Diana Gabaldon, as I'm reading her latest in the Outlander series. I tend to like authors with great writing 'voices' like Stephen King and Neil Gaiman. To me, they are the masters of the craft. Any author that can take me outside of the real world for a little bit, gets my vote as a favorite - even if just for the moment.
What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I am a fairly pro sleeper, so I could stay in bed all day if it were an option. Unfortunately, necessities of life require that I hold a job outside of writing - so the alarm often reminds me every morning that I need to sell more books...
