Andre Doshim Halaw

Andre is a Zen Buddhist monk and authorized teacher in the Five Mountain Zen Order. He teaches Zen and meditation in Princeton, NJ, as well as high school English and online courses at Buddha Dharma University. He studied and practiced Japanese Zen for several years before finding his home in the Five Mountain Zen Order.

As a genuine student and seeker of the truth, Andre considers himself a student of many contemplative traditions. After being deeply moved by the Neti-Neti process employed by the 20th-century sage Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj in his classic I Am That, Andre decided to develop it into a fully articulated meditation system. NETI-NETI MEDITATION (a.k.a.,TRANSCENDENTAL NEGATION) reflects years of Andre's Zen training and deep meditative study.
