Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in a very traditional household in the middle of nowhere. We were always taught that our imaginations would allow us to see the world and escape the mundane, now that's exactly what I do. I love the idea of being able to create miniature snapshots of fantasy worlds (sexy or otherwise) that allow me and fellow readers to escape the present.
When did you first start writing?
I started writing about 10 years ago, but stopped after a number of professors complained that I wrote too much fiction into my research papers.
