Annabeth Nash

Smashwords Interview

Describe your desk
My desk is an antique one with a horizontal door that pulls down to form the desk part. I try to keep it tidy, but it's always messy and covered in cat hairs thanks to my two cats Tigs and Cordy who like to join me whenever I get the lap open. In fact Tigs is curled up next to me now on his cat tower. The only way I can keep him off my keyboard is to pull his tower right up to me so he can be as close as possble. He's adorable and very loving. Above my desk is a lovely photo of one my favourite places on the planet; Bamburgh Beach in Northumberland. I try to get there whenever I can.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, England. I still live there. I chose to set my books there because I know the area so well. I also chose a university Librarian as a career for my heroine. She works at Keele University in Staffordshire and I was both a student and a library assistant there myself.
