Anne Gaelan is a published performance poet, novelist, short story writer and screenwriter.. Her poems have featured in 'The Poetry of Surrender', 'Quantum Leap' and 'An Lucht Lonrach'. She is also a lyricist and composer. In 2016 she wrote the rap for Morecambe Carnival.

She has worked with young people on film making through involvement in the local film society Lancaster Film Makers' Co-op.

At present she is working on a book about Arthur Ransome in time for the fiftieth anniversary of his death next year and is working on a book of children's poems.

In addition to writing, she is an accomplished singer-pianist, and teaches the flute, Chinese flute, piano and keyboard to adults and children.
