Anne Kennison's unique plot twist comes from a fertile imagination honed by 20-plus years as a trusts and estates attorney. Now retired from the practice of law, Anne lives in Richmond, Virginia, with her husband Dale and two Ragdoll cats Grady and Elliott. When she's not writing, Anne loves to travel, dabble in photography, and spend time with her two adorable granddaughters. She's now working on the sequel to her debut novel Death by Romance.
What do you read for pleasure?
I love all fiction and memoirs but I'm a real sucker for a great mystery. As a kid, I read every Nancy Drew book at least six times and now I'm a big fan of Michael Connelly. When it comes to having a way with words, I love Stephen King's writing. But hand me a well-written book with beautiful prose in just about any genre and I'm all over it.
This fast moving mystery poses an unusual plot involving a well developed cast, most of whom are scrambling to hit the jack pot by tapping the fortunes of the very rich using a "perfectly legal" scheme. Things go terribly wrong and become increasingly complicated as it falls in the lap of Detective Ryan Hamlin to sort out every clue and discover the murderer of the latest wealthy mark.
