Anne Lawrence

Biography

Anne Lawrence is a passionate tug follower and writer.

In 2012, Anne and her husband, Kevin, followed their tug by leaving their familiar, middle-class suburban lifestyle in Canada to reinvent themselves in the remote mountains of Costa Rica. They took a leap of faith by opening the exclusive Hush Valley Lodge B&B retreat and by operating a natural trout farm on their 35-acre property nestled in a paradise setting.

Through over 25 years of diverse life experiences, two blogs, media contribution, and her book "Following my tug... all the way to Costa Rica!," Anne shares stories, resources and soulful insights to guide clients and social media fans to follow their own tug. As the go-to crackerjack for clients who are stagnating, lingering at crossroads, Anne listens compassionately, asks the right questions and cuts through the mire with the goal of bridging the gap between that dissatisfied feeling in their gut and the life they truly want to be living.

Smashwords Interview

What are your five favorite books, and why?
I love all kinds of books, but my favourites are written in the first person: I love any true story that honestly reveals the struggles and triumphs of a life. It can be fiction, but it has to have an element of authenticity to grip me. I do love life's big adventures, the open road... and self-reflecting, soul-finding sort of stories. Characters don't have to be wise, just true to themselves. I really enjoyed Eat, Pray, Love; Long Way Around; Into the Wild; The Mosquito Coast... but I also love The Giver. The list goes on, really.
What is your e-reading device of choice?
I have a Kobo eReader, which is great when I'm travelling and don't want to lug heavy books around, but lately I've been enjoying reading my eBooks on my laptop. I love the backlit screen, which means I don't have to struggle to find good lighting. It's great.
