Aoife Brennan

Biography

I am the author of The Cougar Diaries Trilogy.

I started off writing a non fiction book about divorce which suddenly segued into fiction - so I took all I knew about dating again and fictionalised it. What a hoot! I am the author of my own destiny now - I am writing the ending. So I can lead my main character through the valley of death, despair and trouble, but I am giving her a fabulous ending! Oh the power of the pen!

So, when possessions depart – and bravery enters by the main door – then it is time to write!

Follow Aoife Brennan as she follows her heart in the search for true love. Ireland, post Celtic Tiger, is the backdrop to Aoife's tumultuous journey from Dublin to Athens and back in her pursuit of love in a recession. She faces loss of her job, her home being repossessed and the crazy legal system. Can she overcome against the odds? Aoife is a survivor and come witness her journey.

Smashwords Interview

Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in Dublin, going to school there and eventually reading History and English at Trinity College Dublin. From there I was hired on the milkround and went to work for JP Morgan in the city of London. I spent the next ten years living abroad - in Australia, Singapore and US, before returning to Ireland.

Dublin is in my blood, but it is a very polite Dublin, full of manners and concern. Not possibly the best to breed a writer!
When did you first start writing?
I was always writing but it took age and divorce to give me courage and freedom to write brave words

First of I have to say I read this novel almost in a single sitting. Almost only because I had things to do, like go to work, which interrupted my reading. From the very get go I was pulled in. Secondly, I loved the concept. Willing slaves tutored in all aspects of BDSM and more to serve their new masters or mistresses. Kinky and special. I also was jealous of their new skill sets. Could I enrol part time for the tuition? Thirdly, the characters were well drawn and realistic. I wanted to meet Jerome frankly. Actually, may I? I give this novel a five star rating. And look forward to the sequel.
