Art Skogsberg was born and raised in Illinois until enlisting in the Army where he spent a little more than four years with his last assignment as a legal clerk in the Staff Judge Advocate Corp. He also did a fair amount of Mountain climbing while in the Army. Upon his return he obtained his BA in Political Science with a Minor in Business from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. After graduation he became a claims adjuster and then an owner of an Insurance Agency. He has been active in the Martial Art of Tae Kwon Do for the last 19 years rising to the rank of 5th degree black belt. He has always loved Westerns and had the idea to write a western incorporating Martial Arts. He has written and developed his book (Family Unity) over the past five years.

What inspires you to get out of bed each day?
I rise at 5:30AM every day except Saturday and Sunday. I am usually at the gym for a workout by 6:15AM and then to the office by 9AM to work the rest of the day. The routine is the major focus for me to start the day and keep busy. Inspiration for me is knowing what I need to accomplish the next day.

In the 1840's Gus and Sarah moved to Wyoming from Missouri and after twenty years of hard work had the largest cattle ranch in Wyoming. In the 1880's a ruthless banker through murder and intimidation decided to take over the ranch. The family decided to fight back.
