  • The Flame on June 28, 2014

Didn't really get the spirit of this book. i'd say it was fast paced but it felt more like fast forward. The plot has potential but the book itself reads like a script and it moves like a really bad low budgeted movie. The characters are interesting enough; crude and chaotic, indulgent and many of loose morals. It could have had more body but just feels hollow. 2 and 1/2 stars from me.
  • Secrets Within on June 28, 2014

For me this book was a disappointment. It had a substantial plot but it felt like the author was trying to fulfill the word limit. Disjointed, hurried and jumping all over the place. 1/2 star from me.
  • Awakened (Vampire Awakenings, Book 1) on June 28, 2014

I like books with a soulmate storyline and this one has been added to my collection. A couple of additions to the plot i.e. the aggression factor but overall the book keeps to one of my all time favorite themes.
  • Amarna Book I: Book of Ida on July 12, 2014

I won this ebook along with 2 others from the same author from LibraryThing Members Giveaway in exchange for an honest review. And boy am I glad that I did. I am hooked! An ancient story written in a contemporary style but captivating all the same. Amarna Book 1: Book of Ida, follows the trials of Idaten, a slave girl, a childhood playmate and sweetheart of two well known characters from ancient Egyptian history. The book's language may be modern but the story is as ancient as time itself, conspiracy, murder, spying and plotting and in all this betrayal, love still manages to survive. So glad I won this book and eagerly awaiting the next in this series.
  • Rebellion Book I: Book of Quay on July 15, 2014

I won this ebook along with 2 others from the same author from LibraryThing Members Giveaway in exchange for an honest review. This book, I didn't want it to finish. Intriguing, it held my attention till the last page. The twisted fates of Soung and Quay feed a storyline filled with betrayal, lies, jealousy, misunderstanding and above all the realization of a destiny of true love. I think Grea Alexander is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. Looking forward to book 2.
  • Amarna Book II: Book of Hawara on Sep. 08, 2014

Aaaaaarrrrggggghhhhh! Grea Alexander! you leave me hanging once again! Tragedy just wont let up on Ida, Mursili and Nac, Gosh I want to strangle everyone of those gods and especially the villainous, power hungry idiots! But I still loved this installment, it's even better than Book I and now I have to wait for Book III........ looks like some of this tragedy is leaking out into my reading life :-(
  • Rebellion Book II: Book of Soung on Sep. 08, 2014

OMG! this just keeps getting better and better. The plot twists and thickens. Life gets more complicated for Quay & Soung just when happiness seems to have found a place in their lives, over and over and over again. Life just isn't fair or easy for them and unfortunately their 2 biggest weaknesses i.e their love and their mistrust for each other keeps getting in the way and keeps them apart. On a personal note I kept checking the progress bar on my eReader hoping that the book wasn't ending yet, but eventually it did. BOO HOO! Oh Grea! I hope Book III: Book of Choi has happy endings for some of the (not so good) the good guys. And may the BAD GUYS all rot in hell! Now I wait.........
  • Fading Echoes on Nov. 03, 2014

I won an ARC from LibraryThing Member Giveaways in exchange for an honest review. This book picks up 20 years after Aidan and Phoebe's story. This is the story of Charlotte who was a toddler in the Echo Falls. Her journey to finding her place and purpose as a purebred werewolves amongst the pack of Echo Falls. Stronger and more skilled than the others she feels alone and misunderstood, her past haunting her her present and her future unclear. Her quest for answers lead to more questions and danger shadows them. Once again I felt that there was too much repetition, but Jamie McDougall has a certain style to her writing, where she hints to certain aspects of the story but doesn't completely reveal those secrets, building up the suspense factor. I guess as a reader it made me impatient to get on with the story, but then I must respect the author's own style/
  • Echo Falls on Nov. 03, 2014

I won an ARC from LibraryThing Member Giveaways in exchange for an honest review. Phoebe and Aidan's story starts with an action packed punch, the plot developing as it hints to certain aspects of the theme but not revealing itself entirely. I had a bit of a problem with the author repeating some parts like the reader needs constant reminding of what is happening, hence dragging the story out a bit. Maybe a the attempt to create suspense is a little overdone. The story though is good, possibly suitable as a YA as the single sex scene is suggestive but not graphic.
  • Dark Echoes on Nov. 03, 2014

I won an ARC from LibraryThing Member Giveaways in exchange for an honest review. Of the 3 books in this series, I think this one of the best. A paranormal novel through and through right down to reincarnations and pendants made from bones. Lily and Jason, both purebreds with their own haul of emotional baggage. And who can she trust because everyone she thought was a friend turns out not to be. A great YA series for supernatural story fans
  • Toast To Go on Feb. 15, 2015

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review A very quick read but so sweet and romantic.
  • Rebellion Book III: Book of Choi on Aug. 05, 2015

I've been waiting a long time for this book to come out and now that it finally is I'm ..........speechless! All the secrets and lies uncovered, the truth exposed and memories returned. Conspiracy upon conspiracy fueled by jealousy, hatred and betrayal. Quay and Soung right at the middle, being forced to play their parts by the puppet-masters of their fates before they are able to take the reins into their own hands. I am glad that their story has come to some sort of a conclusion but it has definitely not ended. Seems like a whole new can of worms is about to be opened up. Looking forward to Sedition: Book of Xian ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
  • Dragon by Knight on Oct. 25, 2015

This was an interesting enough read. The mysterious Sir Tristan invites Lisabeth Stuart to his new Dragon's Lair Pleasure Faire resort in Galveston. Unbeknownst to Lisabeth, Tristan is caretaker and lord to a clan of dragons, hunted by a cult following the ideals with St. George. Soon she is caught up in the dangers they face. And unexpected love complicates things even further. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
  • Dragon Killer on Oct. 25, 2015

After a traumatic and exhausting time facing the St. George fanatics, Lisabeth and Tristan escape to a tropical island to spend some quality time with his family. The newly engaged couple are not prepared for the resistance they face from Tristan's son, Raiden. • The Pack: Addison on Feb. 09, 2016

Well Grea Alexander, there you go hooking your literary claws back into me. The Pack : Addison is the begging of a great new series. Set in the 18oos (era stories with a twist of contemporary are Ms. Alexander's forte) it chronicles the machinations of Talon James, Bristol, Blake and of course this installment is dedicated to Addison. I'm not going to give any spoilers but rest assured that this series with involve, Werewolves and Hunters and loads of twisted romance and passion. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review
  • Amarna Book III: Book of Raia on Feb. 09, 2016

What a tangled web this is. King Mursili's unshakable faith in the prophecy and his single minded focus on the big picture disregarding every loss, Nacamakun, almost mad over the grief of what he has lost in the quest to place the Amarna bloodline back on the Throne, Idamun's maternal instincts screaming at her to keep her son safe from the vengeance of his enemies and of course the various gods executing their own plans. The fate of Egypt and Hatti hang in the balance. This concluding installment in the Amarna series will take you on a journey of turmoil, betrayal, doubt and madness. And the end will make you either smile or then as in my case, thirsting for more. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
  • Broken on March 01, 2016

This book made me go through a gamut of emotions and feelings. I felt anger, elation, fear, happiness, guilt. I wanted to cry and laugh and hit and scream and giggle and hide in a hole somewhere. This story will make you FEEL! do not doubt that for a second. In the end, I just wanted to roll on the floor and laugh, jump up and down, do a happy dance and say "Up yours Alex, you suck!!" And I think this is exactly what Luz and Lane set out to do in their lives respectively, so YAY! for them. Loved it! ARC provided in exchange for an honest review
  • The Devil You Know on March 20, 2016

A sweet though frustrating story about a quest for revenge turning into love. I say frustrating because it's such a shame that people approach their objectives with pre-conceived notions. Dom jumps in headfirst in his quest for revenge to take his anger out on Calla. Anger that should have been directed at her father. And the worst part is he has no idea that Calla was an even bigger victim of father Prince Stewart. So of course, he loses her for a while. But Dom redeems himself by going back to his roots and remembering where he came from. He turns his quest for revenge around by doing something good for the community. Thank God for HEAs or I'd probably stop reading books altogether and curl up in a corner. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
  • Bachelor for Hire on April 13, 2016

This book had a nice plot but I had a little bit of an issue with the way the story flowed. I felt it was a little jumpy and disconnected. I can't exactly pinpoint what was wrong so I'm not sure whether it is an editorial issue or a writing one. I tend to "feel" what the characters feel but somehow I just could not feel the emotion of the story. In fact, it felt staged. I think maybe it lacked background or insight into the characters. Whatever was there felt brief and abrupt. I don't usually like to give a negative review, but I feel if this story is tweaked some more with a little bit of character and background buildup and some editorial work, it could turn into a smashing story because the romance factor is definitely there. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
  • Falling for Her Bachelor on April 16, 2016

OMG can this book be any sweeter! I loved it. The childhood crush blooming into true love. No thanks to the hero Nick though. The credit all goes to Cassidy. Nick is an idiot in my book because he wasted soooooo much time to figure it out. But Sid, oh that girl knew exactly what she wanted. But the great thing is that she allows him to work through his crap. Thank God he realizes that she is perfect for him just in time. ARC provided in exchange for an honest review
  • Seducing the Bachelor on April 24, 2016

I love Sinclair Jayne's male characters. Dark, broody, sort of bad boys with good intentions and hearts of gold. And her female characters are always inspiring; strong women ready to overcome every hurdle life throws their way. The same goes for Colt and Talon. The attraction between them is instant, explosive. And each has a past. Colt has ghosts that haunt him and Talon has struggled every step of the way to get to where she is in life today. They quite complement each other but Colt has to let go of his preconceived notions about the kind of man he is, long enough to give them a chance. Completely in love with the way this book ends and a lovely little teaser to a possible follow-up story in there as well. Keeping my eyes peeled for that one, ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.
  • Weekend with Her Bachelor on April 26, 2016

Ally and Gavin have a history. They are destined to be together. But they keep getting in their own way. I love their mothers though. One quirky, the other wise but both quite in tune with what they kids need. Even though Gavin says that Ally's mom doesn't understand her (after the diner's "friends with benefits" fiasco) I think she's just giving Ally that nudge she needs to give Gavin a go. I wish this wasn't the last book in this series. Now I will have to wait until next year's Bachelor Auction. :-( ARC provided in exchange for an honest review

  • The Billionaire's Secret on May 15, 2016

This one was probably my favorite. • Miael: Family on Aug. 09, 2016

YEOW! Miael is CREEPY and TWISTED. Geez I had no idea what to expect when I started this book but such evil and gore, I did not expect. In spite of consciously avoiding horrors because them mess with my head, I still could not stop reading. It was an unexpectedly fascinating read even though I thought it could be a little longer. But now I am looking forward to the next book because I am dying to know what Miael's crazy plan is for Jessibel. Free copy provided in exchange for an honest review.
  • Miael: Friends on April 28, 2017

Though the first book is quite gruesome, Miael:Friends is more psychological thrill. A host of new characters are introduced and there's a bit more insight into the mystery that shrouds the Phoenix and the Seraph. I actually felt the tiniest bit heartbroken for Jessica. And as always, the damned book ended too soon. ARC provided by the author for voluntary review consideration.
