I am a script writer and video editor. Whilst I primarily write scripts, I also write short stories and novels (if the short stories do well).
What's the story behind your latest book?
The first book you mean *smiles*, for now. No Magic First Spell is actually inspired by a video-game: Low Magic Age. It's a paper inspired DnD based game; made digital on steam, the 3.5 rules I believe. In the world of the game: Magic is "low" and can only be used by the few mages left who know how to use magic. In place of magic though, something else has surfaced that can bring hope to the world. I actually emailed them after writing the first draft; wanting to get permission to make it into a novel, and to be respectful. Not only did they give me permission, they shared it by making a post on their steam page. I'm very grateful and hope to be able to do things like that in the future. I highly recommend playing the game, it's a lot of fun, and for "noobs" like me, they have preset characters to play with.
When did you first start writing?
I'm not sure. I'd like to say I have always loved English, but I don't remember how long I have enjoyed the subject. I hate maths, can't stand the subject. It took me forever to get my Functional Skills Level 1 in maths. But it took me three tries to get my C in English. I'm not ashamed of that, I'm actually very proud. Because it allows me to go to University in October (2017) and study script writing and other areas of film.
Magic is non-existent, long since faded (with few still holding on). This is the result of a war that has caused magic to cease to be. Through a spark of hope, there may be a chance for magic to blossom again.
