L.R. Claude

Biography

As a single stay at home dad I am an avid novelist and active person. I take notice of many of the struggles in the world around me and try to help give voice to those that need it. I am an avid outdoors man in Michigan and I take many of the inspiring stories of others to better influence myself and my characters. I published 3 books in my first year of taking myself seriously and have seen wonderful results from my effort.

Smashwords Interview

What is your writing process?
My process is one of solitude, My office is set up in that my back is to my door and my walls are littered with layers of notes and scribblings. I frantically write most days while my child is in school and often for hours after bedtime as well. I often have purposeful distractions going to avoid getting caught up in goings on around me be it songs or movies that replay over and over to drown out other noises. I work out for half an hour in the gym before writing to level off my energy for the day but I often find that the day has gone by without any notice once I start writing. I absolutely love writing and am so overwhelmed with ideas and such that I am up most nights just scribbling notes and more ideas to come back to later.
How do you approach cover design?
Often times with my covers I lay out a theme to the overall book and then try and feel out a mental image of what would encompass everything I'm trying to accomplish with the novel and attempt to bring it from mind to reality.
