Writing isn't my job or something I have to do. I am compelled to do it. It is cathartic and expressive and dreamy. I've written for as long as I can remember; stories and prose. Over the years, friends have expressed how much they love my unique and often witty crafting of words. I hope that you enjoy my stories as much as they have.
I am working on my first novel, OF TWO MINDS. I also have a couple of short stories published (working on some updates/edits for those presently) and a new short called FIGHTING FIFTH is in the works.
details to come....
What's the story behind your latest book?
Emme's family has become systemically broken mess. Her mom works long hours to make ends meet. Her older brother remains distant as he struggles with addiction while their mentally unstable father disappeared three years ago, for what seemed like the last time. Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorder robbed their father of his sanity, and them, of a father.
Emme's eventual diagnosis creates more questions than it answers. Bipolar disorder isn't just happy faces and sad faces. It is a futile battle for control - of yourself. She struggles to cope with her sexuality, not caving to the lure of chemical numbness, and to impossibly mitigating the shifting tides of her mood. None of it compares to living with the fallout of a life-changing violation that no one can erase... Emme perpetually questions major life decisions; emotions always running high. At twenty-two, she is grief-stricken and at a crossroads in life. Haunting past choices reemerge when first love, now musician and singer, Hunter McKenna comes home - for her. It may be too late to repair what they lost and having another man in the picture certainly doesn't help.
Ian Lockhart, however, is not to be underestimated. He's a cunning man, a war veteran, and a self-made millionaire before the age of thirty. He cherishes Emme but is also quite the controlling dominant. This new found security empowers Emme to let go of her white-knuckled grip and bare the reins to someone more capable.
Yet, when the stakes are raised and Hunter steps up, who will Emme chose? Will there be anything left to save once she knows what Hunter's been hiding? Not if Ian has anything to do with it and he's sure as hell not losing his most promising submissive to the one guy who almost destroyed her.
What do you read for pleasure?
The Outlander series, by Diana Gabaldon. The Crossfire series, by Sylvia Day Historical Romance, I love Lisa Kleypas. Dreaming of You was my favorite. I also love Jasinda Wilder and Megan Hart.
Outside of chick-lit, I enjoy classical English and Early American works. The kind of books with multiple themes that you wrote papers about in high school and college.
This is an erotic short story where two friends play catch up - romantically and physically. Fireworks explode when an old chemistry is found very much alive. Their worlds are too different but their pull to one another is too strong. So, is there a middle ground between friendship and a loving happily-ever-after?
