Describe your desk
A furniture piece consisting of wood and nails buried under a laptop, stack of notebooks of all varying sizes, pens, pencils, random papers, a coffee mug, and at least two empty bottles that once held water. Oh, and a bottle of black nail polish.
Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing?
I grew up in the Midwest, where life tends to move at a slower pace. I had a lot of time as a child to read books and watch movies about fantasy worlds, scifi creatures, etc. All that seeped into my head and those daydreams eventually became inspiration to write.
Engineer Colton Smythe, an agent of New Britannia's Cabinet of Intellectual Curiosities, is on a hunt for the man he believes is responsible for his mother's death. When the COIC orders him to team with French Bureau de L'Industrie agent Dominique Fontaine to infiltrate a metal foundry in northwestern France, he must choose between completing the mission or fulfilling a personal vendetta.
Dr. Jacob Valerian is considered an eccentric by London society. Bearing physical and mental scars from his stint in the military, he returns home to help accident victims regain mobility with mechanical limbs. But how can he work closely with his new assistant, the pretty and plucky Miss Abigail Benton, without her knowing about the dark and painful past that made him who he is today?
The Lady Machinist (Curiosity Chronicles, #1): A romantic steampunk tale of clockwork soldiers, persistent pirates, and political intrigue. Machinist Lydia Dimosthenis detests pirates, especially those of British ilk. When her automatons catch the eye of a charming, secretive ambassador from New Britannia, she is given an offer that she truly cannot refuse. But that doesn't stop her from trying.
