I recently puchased this novel by Christian Clarke. WOW! What can I say except that this book, “A Synthetic Illusion”, is absolutely fabulous! Those of you, who know me well, know that it can take me a while to read a book. The fact is that the material can become long winded and laborious before it gets to the good bits, but you need to read it to understand the plot, the mystery, etc. Not “A Synthetic Illusion”! Every riveting word had me turning pages so quickly. Page after page I wanted to keep going. Every chapter was intense, every scenario relevant. I was fighting off sleep not wanting to put the book down. Regretfully the book came to an end and I find myself feeling so many emotions. The story was so captivating it left me wanting more. I can’t wait for the next novel. Christian’s raw talent makes for easy reading. His language is as you and I. In most books, authors use words that more often than not, I need a dictionary next to me to clarify and clearly understand what they are trying to convey. Not Christian, his language is straight, hard hitting and to the point! I loved everything about the book, from the sexy front cover to the very last page. He achieved what he set out to do. To paraphrase “You’ll laugh, you’ll cry; but most of all I sincerely hope it makes you think.” I felt all this and more. He aroused me physically and mentally. I wish you the best of luck and hope others who purchase “A Synthetic Illusion” fall in love with your talent also. Barbara

Once again I have no hesitation in recommending this book. Although a little short (leaves you wanting more). It is so well written. So graphic, informative and intense. I love that it is a sequel, not the first novel rewritten with extra bits like most author's do. Totally separate story to the first, even though the main character is the same. I totally enjoyed this book as much as the first. Very talented Mr Clarke - what's next - I cant wait. Barbara
