What is your writing process?
The Blood Prince was a book that went through several writing processes. At first I had only a beginning and an end in mind, with several unrelated in-between scenes. I started writing it as the ideas came, but mid-way through the process I realised that I needed an outline, and so I made one. Even after I had to make major changes to the story about the first content edit, I still worked with an outline and found that it helps me a lot, even though the final result doesn't always match.
Do you remember the first story you ever read, and the impact it had on you?
The first story I read by myself? I don't know. When I was a kid I was so eager to learn to read that I learnt the words of my picture books by heart and then pretended to read the stories out loud. My first books were "Un dragon dans un chariot" and "Comptons les petits lapins", which is hilarious considering that I now own a rabbit and I wrote a book about dragons.
