Breanna Egan

Biography

My name is Breanna and I recently moved out of state, and away from my family, to work for a large no-kill animal sanctuary. Writing is one of my hobbies, so I was thrilled when I learned about Smashwords! It's a great site to help share my passion with my fellow writers.

Any money raised through Smashwords will help bring me one step closer to my dream of owning a home in my new state and using it to help animals!

In just a brief amount of time (7 pages) Carmela manages to create likable lead characters, which is one of the most important aspects of a story (in my opinion). She's also written a riveting plot story that is well worth the read! Carmela has earned this 5 star rating for "Well Covered."
  • Stan (Written Trailer) on Jan. 23, 2016

The mechanics of this story are on point; grammar, voice, imagery, all terrific. The conversations and interactions between the characters are natural and believable. And while the broad idea of the story has been done before (killer toy), there are aspects of this story that make it unique. Definitely worth reading!
  • Five Stories Up on Jan. 23, 2016

This is a fantastic read with creepy imagery that sent shivers up my spine. The story is well written and the dialogue between characters feels natural. The ending is fantastic and modern. Definitely worth the read!

I honestly didn't think I would read all the stories when I started, but I just couldn't stop! They are all very well written, but all very different. So you get a variety in one reading. I think my favorite story was "Phoenix." I don't really know why, it was just a feeling after I'd finished it. If you're looking for a good read to pass the time this is definitely it!
  • Snowbound on May 14, 2017

A second story read and enjoyed from J.A. Ellis. A haunting setting starts off 'Snowbound' and a isolated character brings a sense of uneasy. Tension builds easily and creepy creatures bring the story full circle. I highly recommend Snowbound for a quick and entertaining read.

What a smart concept! I went from being thoroughly entertained at the idea, to a small pit in my stomach thinking about the anguish a situation like this would cause, and how this could end horribly, to very happy with the ending! It almost makes me wish I was someone's fictitious heroine! It's very well written, has great dialogue between the characters, and amazingly goofy and awesome details thrown in. It's a very quick and entertaining read, so there's no reason to pass this one up!

Very well written with characters that were well established very quickly (a necessity when dealing with short stories). I actually feel sorry for Clive and the situation he has been put into. And even the short visitation from the wife makes me think she was never in love with him, and must have always been a selfish person. He needs to hire the Ghost busters or Sam and Dean stat! Haha
