Bori Praper
Biography
Bori Praper, born in Slovenj Gradec, Slovenia, in 1976, graduated in English language and literature from the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2000.
He has worked as a translator for almost 15 years (English to Slovenian at first, and since 2007 mostly Slovenian to English; among other things he has subtitled numerous films, translated meters upon meters of abysmally boring EU legislation, tons of semi-comprehensible technical texts, but also scores of historical articles, several theatre plays, feature film screenplays, and short film scripts).
Bori is also a musician (reasonably good on drums, useful behind the keyboards, barely rudimentary on bass and horrible at guitar, though he can fake a couple of power chords if necessary). His love for computers and music production has often come in handy, particularly after 1998 while writing and recording music for many theatre performances, public events, videos and animations, as well as a short film.
Since 1993 he has taken part in numerous music projects, mostly as a musician, producer, composer, arranger and lyricist, as well as played drums in several bands. Currently he is predominantly focused on "Cynicism Management", a progressive rock band founded by himself and his wife Monika Fritz, as well as on his slightly belated literary efforts.
Bori and Monika live and work in Berlin, Germany, with their dog, Paloma Mala the Deathbreath Rock'n'Roll Bitch, who just lounges about and doesn't do anything much!
Aventura has published Bori's first novel Cynicism Management - A tale of a band within a rollercoaster of entangled plot lines, bizarre dialogues and ridiculous incidents, culminating in a shocking revelation
