Jim was born and raised on the prairies of southern Saskatchewan. After a four-year stint in the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion, he began a thirty-five year career with Imperial Oil, first in Saskatchewan and later at their head office in Toronto. Now retired Jim and his wife Olga live in Mississauga, Ontario. For many years they belonged to an Outdoors club which gave them an opportunity to hike and canoe, something they both enjoy. That interest led to hiking in France, Italy and Austria. Several years after retirement Jim became interested in Family History research, which culminated with the publication of two large family history books, one for his father’s family and one for his mother’s side of the family. Well aware of the need to always have a project underway, Jim has now completed his latest book Retirement Lifeline.
