Brandi Perry was born and raised in south Mississippi. After completing high school at Columbia High School in 1998, she furthered her education at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, graduating with a degree in History and English and a minor in Political Science.
Brandi taught high school for 5 years before emergency brain surgery sidelined her daily life and she began writing. Perry's first novel was Wayward Justice. Even though her dream of becoming a writer was alive and well within Brandi. she was never fully consumed with the passion of becoming a writer like she became after surgery.
A Whisper on the Bayou was Perry's second novel and as of August 2012, was in the early production stages of becoming a motion picture through Out There Productions in Austin, Texas. It is her greatest seller to this point. Brandi's third novel, Buried Cries, was released in August 2012 and reviews claim, "This is Perry's greatest book to date." It is also a nominee for the Mississippi Library Association's Book of the Year in 2013. Brandi has working outlines for several books in the near future, including: The Jury, Innocence, Magnolia Manor, and Best Seat in the House. Perry writes full time from her home in Columbia, Mississippi.
Brandi has represented the State of Mississippi on two occasions during Arts and Literature Month (March) and has been asked to be the keynote speaker at Hinds Community College in Raymond for the same event in 2013. Brandi was also placed on the "100 Famous Mississippian's List" by a Marion County School.
In her spare time, Brandi enjoys traveling, scuba diving, flying, working with her horse George, and volunteering in her community. Currently, Brandi is a member of several community organizations including: The Friends of the Columbia-Marion County Library (Vice-President), Marion County Historical Society (Vice-President), Marion County Development Partnership (Member), Marion County Development Partnership Tourism Committee, Marion County Development Partnership Ambassador Committee (Chair), Pearl River Disc Golf Club, Main Street, Inc and Marion County Historical Railroad.
