Born and raised in historical New Orleans, Louisiana, Jessica Claiborne grew up in a culture filled with mystery and mysticism. Some of her favorite television shows were Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock, Monsters, Tales from the Darkside, and Tales from the Crypt.
At age eight, she began writing, and completed a play that was later performed by her peers in a drama class she was attending at the time. At age 21, she was published for the first time when the college she was attending accepted her short story: 'Bourbon Orleans', for publication in one of the university's literary journals.
Jessica Claiborne mainly focuses on the psychological thriller and horror genre. She attributes her vivid imagination to earlier pioneers such as Rod Serling and Alfred Hitchcock, and also to the sometimes spooky history of New Orleans itself.
