Biography
Hello, My name is Christina Pickle. Yes, Pickle is my real last name; my married name. A friend once told me that I must really love my husband to take his last name. The truth is that I love my husband, but I also love our last name. It's memorable. One would think that with a name like Christina Pickle, there would be no one else on earth with the exact name. Amazingly enough, there is actually another Christina Pickle in the town that I live in, Tampa, Florida. Who knew.
One of the reasons that I love my name is that kids and adults alike remember it. I love hearing the kids in my church where I am the children's director call me Mrs. Pickle. The smaller the voice the cuter it sounds. The fact is that I love being me.
I have been privileged to serve the Lord in several churches throughout the years as the children's director and Pastor's wife. My husband and I have been in the ministry for over 20 years serving in various churches throughout the US. Although I love being involved in ministry, I have always felt compelled to write. So, here I am writing.
I write whatever the Lord puts on my heart. I am working on a series about evolution. It' not something I planned, but as I teach my kids at church and see the fascination on their faces when I tell them the truth about dinosaurs and creation, I feel compelled to share it with other boys and girls in the form of books. Then, the Lord put it on my heart to teach it to teens and adults, as well. I didn't plan it.
Christian fiction is another type of book I am working on presently. I have the first of a series coming out soon in the fiction genre for ages 12 and up. This is another book that God is leading me in writing. I cannot say why exactly that I decided to become an author except that I am compelled. I don't know what God has planned, but I do hope and pray that these books are a blessing to you in some way.
In addition, I am writing a series for children 2-6 based on our loveable Basset Hound, Butter. I love sharing the pictures and the antics of this wonderful dog. Best of all, kids "get it" and love it, too. I look forward to seeing how it all works out, but either way, I'm doing something I love. :)
