Adam Cairney

Hey, and thanks for looking here!

My name is Adam. I'm an avid fantasy fan, always have been, and always will be. I decided to give the whole fantasy thing a go myself, and hopefully you are here because either you enjoyed my book, or are thinking of checking it out. I hope you do!

My influences range from the Wheel of Time series, to the Sword of truth Series, to books like Sabriel and Mortal Engines. Garth Nix, Robert Jordan, George R R Martin, Brandon Sanderson...There are so many influences I could just keep going. Hopefully I've done the genre and authors I love proud.

I'm currently working on a website for Spectrum, So I hope you'll come and have a look once it's ready.

All the best,

Smashwords Interview

What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
I love being able to just lose myself in another world, really let my imagination run wild and just create something new and unique. I like being able to imagine the characters, feel what they're feeling and think what they are thinking. I picture the environments, and what they look like. Are they old? New? Decorated palaces, or run down backstreets? There's nothing better than creating an entire world from scratch.
What are you working on next?
I have a couple of ideas. I've got a thriller in mind that I want to work on, as well as a horror story, but both of those are in very early stages in terms of planning. Of course for the Spectrum universe the second book is already well underway, and is already looking much bigger and grander in terms os scale than the first book, really expanding on the story from the first book and exploring more of the world, and the characters. It's shaping up really nicely already!
