Calvin Stone

I began working on what was to become SMALL TOWN CRAZY early 1983. My plan then was to write for year then have someone read it. In 1984 went to writer’s conference where Ruth Moose read over one of the stories had at that point. She said sound like had enough material for novel. So began to work in that direction where took William Price Fox’s graduate writing class. Then in 1988 went to another conference where talked with Sandy Richardson and gave me some helpful advice. Later showed work to Franklin Ashley who had been professor for English 102. Then asked Vivian Glover for her advice. All the above took place in small South Carolina town called North. Then moved to Albany, GA where in 1997 worked with book doctor Bobbie Christmas on SMALL TOWN CRAZY. Since then have attempted to keep SMALL TOWN CRAZY to find publisher and worked on other two projects.

Small Town Crazy is my first book. It contains pot smoking, profanity, protest march, Senior citizens, human size squirrel, and religious whackos. It is the story of Freddie Snell as tries to deal with this chaos. His goal in life is to go to college to honor his deceased Father and nothing does seem to go straight. If this sounds like something might enjoy please read. Thank you.
