This book's characters *make* the story, with 'crusty' Eddy, sweet-hearted Karen (looking out for everyone else in her life), her brother Porter, Carol (Karen's Mom), and Joe - who Eddy grudgingly allows to help her (sometimes). As the author writes, she definitely did utilize her nursing background in describing the hospital scenes (if you've ever gone to a hospital cafeteria, the story's description of it will ring true). The author's ending (I won't give it away) has a bit of a surprise to it, from what you'd expect earlier on in the book. I've read her other two books, and she gets better on each one. A great read on A Dove for Eddy, and it will touch your heart by the time you finish this book!
